UNBOXED: Lyotard, Postmodernism & the Metanarrative

Jean- Francois Lyotard- "Postmodernism is a playful engagement with many conflicting micro narratives alternatives that have emerged in the space created by the questioning of the grand meta narrative."

Postmodernism is a late-20th-century movement in the arts, architecture, and criticism that was a departure from modernism. Postmodernism includes skeptical interpretations of culture, literature, art, philosophy, history, economics, architecture, fiction, and literary criticism.
Metanarrative or grand narrative or mater narrative is a term developed by Jean-François Lyotard to mean a theory that tries to give a totalizing, comprehensive account to various historical events, experiences, and social, cultural phenomena based upon the appeal to universal truth or universal values.
